The 2005 Cal U Hall of Fame Class included: Jim Boone (men's basketball coach), Joseph Dochinez '51 (football), Mark Eckels '80 (baseball), Cleveland Steward Jr. '73 (men's basketball), Frank Vulcano Sr. (wrestling coach), Frank Vulcano Jr. '85, ´87 (football), and Meaggan Wilton-Pettipiece '00 (softball).
            Cal U's 1980 PSAC championship men's golf team, coached by Floyd Shuler, was also be recognized in honor of its 25-year anniversary. In additon, Cal U is re-instating the men's golf program after a 22-year hiatus and is starting a women's team this fall, both at the NCAA Division II varsity level.
            These former Vulcan greats were officially inducted at the
2005 Cal Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, which took place Friday,
October 7, at 5:30 p.m., in the Performance Center located inside the Elmo Natali Student Center.
            The inductees also participated in the university's annual
Homecoming Parade Saturday, October 8, and were introduced during the Vulcans' Homecoming football game against Edinboro.
