CALIFORNIA (Dec. 3) – California University of Pennsylvania head coach
John Luckhardt, along with graduate student wide receiver
Marcel Pestano (Lehigh Acres, Fla./Lehigh/Pittsburgh) and junior cornerback
Terrence Johnson (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills), will be appearing as live guests on two Pittsburgh-area broadcasts this week.
Luckhardt will serve as a guest on the
Stan & Guy Show on ESPN Radio 1250 Pittsburgh tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 4, at approximately 10:40 a.m. In addition to the Pittsburgh region, the show hosted by prominent Pittsburgh broadcasters Stan Savran and Guy Junker can be accessed around the world via the
national ESPN Radio website and also on the ESPN
Pittsburgh website.
Pestano and Johnson will be featured as guests on Friday's broadcast, Dec. 5, of
Savran on Sportsbeat. The show hosted by Savran can be seen on FSN Pittsburgh at 6:30 p.m. The show will be on Channel 29 on the Comcast cable system, while subscribers of Armstrong cable can watch the show on Channel 25.
In his seventh season as head coach at Cal U, Luckhardt ranks first in school history with 57 victories and has guided the Vulcans to four-straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West titles. He also ranks fifth for most wins among active Division II head coaches with 194.
Pestano has made an immediate impact in his first year with the program. The 6-0 wide receiver established new single-season school records for receptions (75) and receiving yards (1,114) in last week's victory over Bloomsburg. Pestano also ranks among the conference and national leaders in both categories, while scoring 16 touchdowns (15 receiving).
Johnson continues to be one of the top cornerbacks in the nation, leading the team with five interceptions. The Woodlands Hills graduate also ranks fourth on the squad with a career-high 42 tackles (30 solo) and was named to the All-PSAC West First Team for a consecutive year.
The No. 7 Vulcans (12-1) are appearing in their second-straight NCAA Semifinals on Saturday, Dec. 6, with a 12 p.m. kickoff against No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth (13-0), who beat No. 1 Grand Valley State University (Mich.) in double-overtime last week. The game will broadcast nationally on ESPN Classic.
