CALIFORNIA (Nov. 17) – California University of Pennsylvania seniors
Nick Helbig (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley),
Mike Luecke (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and
Justin Taucher (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) were each named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic Region First Team on Tuesday.
The trio also earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West honors last week. Helbig and Luecke both received first-team all-region laurels from Daktronics last year en route to receiving All-America Honorable Mention.
Luecke led the Vulcans in scoring for the third-straight year, as he tallied 32 points on 13 goals and six assists. He ranked second in the PSAC in points and third in goals. Luecke finished his career among the all-time leaders in school history with 52 goals and 21 assists.
Helbig finished fourth on the team with six goals after scoring three goals on penalty kicks. One of the best offensive defenders in the region, he has scored 13 goals over the last two seasons.
Taucher established career highs in every offensive category as a senior. He ranked among the league leaders with seven goals and six assists after starting all 19 games for the Vulcans.
