NEW YORK (Dec. 18) – California University of Pennsylvania senior defensive lineman Willie Walker (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) and senior wide receiver AJ Jackson (Lehigh Acres, Fla./Lehigh/Sequoias) were recently selected to The Associated Press (AP) Little All-America Teams, which are comprised of players from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA football.

Walker was a first-team choice, while Jackson earned second-team honors.

A 6-3, 250-lb. senior, Walker posted 42 tackles (24 solo) and ranked second on the team with 9.5 tackles for loss (TFL) and 4.0 sacks while leading the Vulcans to a third-straight NCAA Semifinal appearance. He was also selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Player of the Year this fall. Walker finished his career as the school’s all-time leader with 31.5 TFL and totaled 180 career tackles and 14.5 career sacks.

Jackson led the conference and set school records with 1,424 receiving yards and 18 receiving touchdowns on 101 receptions. The 6-6 wide receiver had eight 100-yard receiving games and caught at least one touchdown in 13 of 15 games, including a season-high three scores against Gannon and IUP. Jackson finished second in the nation this year in receiving yards and was third in both receptions and receiving touchdowns. In only two years with the program, he established a new career record with 28 receiving touchdowns and ranks fourth in school history with 2,130 receiving yards.

Cal U has had at least one selection on the AP Little All-America teams in each of the last five years. Last year, defensive back Terrence Johnson (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) was on the second team. Offensive lineman Tim McCutcheon, kicker Tyler Lorenz and defensive lineman Kirby Griffin were all honored in 2007. McCutcheon was also mentioned in 2006 and running back Antoine Bagwell was named to the second team in 2005.

Walker and Jackson were two of five players from the 16-team PSAC to receive mention on the three AP Little All-American Teams.
