CALIFORNIA (May 11) – California University of Pennsylvania senior
Terrence Johnson (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) recently was named to the Consensus Draft Services (CDS) pre-season All-America First Team.
Johnson, a 6-0, 195-pound cornerback, led the team and ranked second in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with five interceptions. In his third year as a starter, he established a career high with 46 tackles (34 solo) and registered eight pass break-ups.
A two-time All-PSAC West First-Team selection, Johnson also served as a kick returner late in the 2008 season. In limited action, he had six returns for 179 yards with an 82-yard kickoff return for touchdown against Seton Hill University in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs.
The former Woodland Hills standout garnered All-America honors following last season from several organizations, including the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Associated Press (AP).
Johnson is one of the 15 starters returning for the Vulcans in 2009. Cal U opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 27 against the Saginaw Valley State University (Mich.) at Adamson Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
