Clark named PSAC Track Athlete of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (May 29) – California University of Pennsylvania graduate student Christopher Clark (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) was selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, announced the league office on Friday.

He joins former teammate Brad Rager (2005) and All-American Brian Ferrari (1984) as the only Vulcans to earn PSAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year laurels. Clark is the first runner in recent program history (since 1990) to earn PSAC Athlete of the Year honors in both cross country and track during a single-season and a career.

Clark finished his Cal U career as a five-time NCAA All-American (four track & field, one cross country) after reaching All-America status at last week's NCAA Division II National Championships in both the 1,500- and 5,000-meter runs. The 6-1 graduate student finished eighth overall in both events at the NCAA Championships.

A native of Hadley, Pa., Clark set a school and PSAC all-time record in the 10,000 meters this season at the Mt. San Antonio College (SAC) Relays in Walnut, Calif. His time of 29 minutes, 3.10 seconds broke a 25-year old conference record by one-tenth of a second (29:03.20) that was held by Ferrari.

At the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, he earned the individual title in the 10K with a time of 29:41.47 and finished fifth in the 1,500 meters.
