NEW ORLEANS (July 7) – Four members of the California University track & field teams were recently named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Track & Field Team.

Graduate students Christopher Clark (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry), Chuck Kacsur III (Boiling Springs, Pa./Carlisle) and Danielle Malay (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), along with junior Frank Ehrensberger (Saint Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic), each received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

This marks the second-straight year in which Malay received the USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, while Clark and Kacsur earned the USTFCCCA laurel during last cross country season.

Clark garnered NCAA All-America honors in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs, while Ehrensberger qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter dash with a league-best 47.11 seconds. Malay posted a NCAA-qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles, while Kacsur posted one of the best times in the league in the 800-meter run.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor National Championship automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

The USTFCCCA honors individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track & field season.
