MARIETTA, Ohio (Sept. 12) – Graduate student
Eric Reger (Manor, Pa./Hempfield) claimed his first college individual title and the Vulcans earned the team crown behind the top-three overall finishers on Saturday at the six-team Carl Broughton Invitational, hosted by Marietta College (Ohio).
The California University of Pennsylvania men's cross country totaled an impressive score of 37, as four Vulcans posted top-10 times. Robert Morris (56) edged the host Pioneers (57) by one point to earn second place, while Otterbein (78) placed fourth.
Reger, who finished in third place at last weekend's season-opening race, posted a time of 27 minutes, 30.38 seconds in the 8K race at Marietta. He finished the race over five seconds ahead of second-place runner and teammate
Tony Russo (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum).

Chris Werner (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) posted back-to-back finishes at second (27:35.78) and third (27:41.93), respectively. Sophomore
Tim Lahmers (Delmont, Pa./Franklin Regional) posted a time of 28:01.25 to finish seventh overall.
Freshman
Aaron Roe (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) crossed the finish line 24th overall with a time of 30:18.27 to round out the Vulcan scorers, while classmate
Gavin Volosky (Dubois, Pa./Dubois) finished the race in 30:40.83.
The Vulcans have now won invitational titles in back-to-back seasons after winning their home invitational last year.
Cal U continues its season on Saturday, Sept. 19, when it travels to Erie for the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
