CALIFORNIA (May 25) – California University of Pennsylvania graduate student Clare McSweeney (Cork, Ireland/St. Aloysius) and the 4x400-meter relay of sophomores Shakeria Love (York, Pa./Central York), Sandy Estep (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) and Jerica Snedden (Carrolltown, Pa./Cambria Heights) and freshman Yahnae Weldon (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) will compete for the Vulcans at this weekend's NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Charlotte, N.C.

The National Championships are being held at the Irwin Belk Complex from May 27-29. Live results of the entire championships will be available by clicking here.

McSweeney automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 800-meter run after posting a blistering time of 2 minutes 8.75 seconds at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Championships. Her time, which broke her own school record, ranks as the fourth-fastest performance in the country this season. McSweeney is seeded second in her preliminary heat on Friday, May 28, which is scheduled to start at 6:40 p.m. The final of the 800 meters is set for a 7:37 p.m. start on Saturday, May 29.

The Cal U 4x400-meter relay provisionally qualified for this weekend's NCAA Championships following its school-record time of 3:48.20 two weeks ago at the PSAC Championships. The time was the fastest at the conference championships, marking the Vulcans first relay title since 1985. The relay of Love, Estep, Snedden and Weldon are scheduled to race in the first heat of preliminaries on Friday night at 9:10 p.m. The finals of the 4x400 relay are slated for 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
