NEW ORLEANS (July 29) – Each member of the California University of Pennsylvania women's track & field record-setting 4x400-meter relay received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors on Thursday afternoon.

Shakeria Love (York, Pa./Central York),
Jerica Snedden (Carrolltown, Pa./Cambria Heights) and graduate student
Clare McSweeney (Cork, Ireland/St. Aloysius) marks the most Vulcans ever featured on the USTFCCCA Academic Team.
The Cal U 4x400 relay of Estep, Love, McSweeney and Snedden provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships after winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships with a school-record time of 3 minutes, 48.20 seconds. The relay crown at the PSAC Championships was the first for the Vulcans since 1985.
Last year, former All-American
Danielle Malay earned All-Academic status for a second-straight season.
A total of 276 student-athletes representing 72 Division II colleges and universities made up the 2010 All-Academic team. The USTFCCCA honors Division II individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field season.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor National Championship automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
The male All-Academic individuals will be announced tomorrow, Friday, July 30. Those institutions given All-Academic Team status will be named on Monday, Aug. 2 (men) and Tuesday, Aug. 3 (women).
