LIBERTY, Mo. (Jan. 26) – For the second-straight year, California University of Pennsylvania seniors
Garry Brown (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville South) and
Aaron Terry (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) both received D2Football.com All-America status on Wednesday morning.
Brown was a First-Team All-America honoree at wide receiver after garnering Honorable Mention laurels in 2015, while Terry earned All-America Honorable Mention at defensive back for consecutive season.
A Harlon Hill Trophy finalist, Brown earned First-Team All-America laurels from the fourth different organization this season. He led NCAA Division II with 26 total touchdowns and averaged 13.0 points per game, which was the most of any wide receiver at all NCAA levels this season. Brown finished second in the country a school record 22 receiving touchdowns and ranked fifth in the nation with 1,475 receiving yards, also a school record. The Ohio native made multiple touchdown receptions in 10 games and closed the year with five-straight 100-yard receiving games.
Brown shattered multiple all-time school records and ranks among the top active players in NCAA Division II in several categories. He also is the only player in school history with multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons, as he accomplished the feat in each of his three seasons as a starter. Brown ranks second among active players in the country with 3,761 receiving yards and is tied for fourth among players at all NCAA levels with 43 receiving touchdowns.
A four-year starter, Terry received All-America laurels for the second time this year. He led the team with three interceptions while helping anchor a unit that ranked third in the country in passing efficiency defense at 95.04. Terry also registered 44 tackles (29 solo) and 6.0 TFL in his first full season starting at safety. The Maryland native, who finished his with 13 career interceptions, made 18 starts at cornerback before moving to safety midway through last year.
The Vulcans have featured at least one D2Football.com All-American in 13-consecutive years. The PSAC featured nine players recognized by D2Football.com in 2016 with three First-Team All-Americans.
