Cal U to host media day on Aug. 8

CALIFORNIA (Aug. 28) – The California University of Pennsylvania football team has announced that it will host its annual media day at Adamson Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m. During that time head coach John Luckhardt, assistant coaches and players will be available for interviews with the media.

In addition to its media day, Luckhardt and two selected players will participate in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Football Media Day on Monday, Aug. 3, in Slippery Rock, Pa. The event features only the eight teams in the Western Division and will begin at 12 p.m. in the University Room of the North Hall. Following the event, the PSAC will reveal its preseason poll for both divisions. Again this year, the winner from the Western and Eastern Divisions will play for the PSAC Championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs.

The Vulcans, who return 19 starters from last year's PSAC and NCAA Regional Championship team, begin the 2009 campaign with a home-opener against Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 at Adamson Stadium.
