Box ScoreBLOOMSBURG (April 24) – The No. 12 California University of Pennsylvania tennis team advanced past host Bloomsburg with a 5-0 win in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament on Friday afternoon.
With the victory, the Vulcans improve to 13-3 overall with only one loss since March. Cal U will now face rival IUP in the PSAC Championship for the fifth-consecutive season tomorrow, Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. Meanwhile, the Huskies finish the year with a 7-8 record after winning in quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Cal U utilized its traditional doubles lineup for the first time in nearly two weeks and swept doubles play after losing only four games. At the first position, senior

Mariela Sarinana (Mexico City, Mexico/Miraflores) posted an 8-2 victory at second doubles against Erin Reitenauer and Cat Garrity, while sophomore

Lena Dimmer (Wallendorf-Pont, Luxembourg/Lycée Classique) registered an 8-1 win over Lindsey Tennis and Iliana Anapolsky at the third slot.
The Vulcans clinched the match victory by winning both completed matches in singles action on Friday. Sarinana blanked Garrity by a 6-0, 6-0 count at the fourth position and freshman
Alice Johns (Northampton, England/Northampton) claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Anapolsky at fifth singles.
Cal U looks to capture its ninth-consecutive tournament title tomorrow against rival IUP in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. The Vulcans have defeated the Crimson Hawks in each of the last four league championships.
